Go over the Buller Bridge on State Highway 67 and continue onto Palmerston Street. Follow on Palmerston until you reach the NBS Theatre on your right.

NBS Theatre

Opened in 2010 The NBS Theatre situated in the heart of Westport includes a 22 seat Screen Room, 54 seat Cinema and 400 seat Auditorium.

The multi purpose facility screens daily movies and frequently holds large shows for your enjoyment.  All rooms are also available for hire.

Fred Gregory Screen Room

The Screen Room at the NBS Theatre, is the perfect place to settle in and watch a good Art House or Foreign Film.  With only 22 seats the Screen Room is a small cosy intimate cinema, but it still delivers on quality with its own 5.1 surround sound system powered by Pioneer with Hypacoustic speakers and an Optoma High Definition projector from The Arvus Group of New Zealand.  Planning a birthday party but not sure what to do with the kids?? Why not hire the Screen Room? We'll set up the PS3, the sound system and the projector.

About the Bill Moffitt Cinema

The Cinema at the NBS Theatre seats 54 and is the ultimate in digital cinema technology.  Watch the latest blockbuster releases in higher than high definition (yes the image is clearer than 1080iHD!) thanks to the NEC DLP projector, with an awesome 7.2 surround sound system powered by Pioneer with Hypacoustic speakers, digital 3D powered by Xpand, with the whole system tied together with DigitAll automation, and ultimately powered by a Qube Digital Cinema Server.  So whether your after a comedy, action, drama or any of the genres in between, we'll have it for you in the Cinema at the NBS Theatre.

About the Auditorium

The Auditorium at the NBS Theatre is the perfect place for any large event you may have planned. Whether its a full theatrical production, a concert, a school reunion, an awards ceremony, or even a corporate dinner, we've got you covered at the NBS Theatre Auditorium.  The Auditorium can seat up to 450.  Planning a banquet? Why not have it at the NBS Theatre? You can seat your guests on the stage, and if you need some more room we can remove the first three tiers of the seating to increase the flat floor area to accommodate a band perhaps, or just a dance floor, or both!

The Auditorium also has a 3 meter wide cross over to the back of the stage, a Green Room, two Dressing Rooms, backstage toilets and a shower, and even a kitchen.
